LARISSA.

THE MISTRESS OF LARGE MUSIC.

This series of eight videos is intended to introduce Millennials to CLASSICAL MUSIC in fun ways they never imagined possible.  Mistress Larissa presents orchestral composers and their works, from all periods of Classical music from 1720 to 2022, usually one movement of a work to give listeners a taste of each composer.

It is important to listen to Classical orchestral music LOUD, as you would hear it in a concert hall.  Most classical programs provide background wallpaper, like listening to Beethoven way, way, way in the background of a Barnes and Noble bookstore.  Many people under 40 have had no good, fun and accurate introduction to Classical Music.

So, Larissa is here!  To sit in her silk robe on a love-seat and tell you all about Mozart, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Sibelius, Janacek, Bartok and other great composers. Programs will vary between 46 mins to over an hour.

WHAT CLASSICAL  MUSIC IS NOT.

Many people believe Classical Music is one thing: Stuffy sounds written by dead people over 100 or 200 years ago. The dreaded soundtrack of elevators and dentist offices. The snooze-fest softly-spoken PBS programming which tries to EDUCATE you about something. Larissa wishes to say, as loudly as possible:  none of that tells the whole story. People with little experience of Classical Music are misled by the Hustlers of Boredom and Grand Slingers of High Culture.
